We travel to Guatemala with our chuch, Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian. The trip has grown and evolved over years. There is now a water purification team, a children’s home team, a convent/school/special needs children’s home team, and then our medical team. Since we are now friends with many amazing people and groups in Guatemala, we, the medical team, spend some time in a few locations and then have at least two days to present a midwife training course, and sometimes other clinical training.

This was our first trip to Totonicapán, still a collaboration with ASECSA Guatemala, but at thier request we traveled about 4 hours further west than where we had presented the workshops previously. We continue to teach the Helping Babies Breathe curriculum, and we were so happy that our friend and Guatemlan pediatrician Dr. Karem Perez could join us again!

Our happy and talented graduates.
A quick night at the Carmelite Convent and a lovely dinner and dance party with Carlos and family.

A day of clinic with Dr. Estrada and the Global CPR Training team.

And a short couple of nights at the Hogar Miguel Magone

And putting in some sweat equity at the hogar and nearby village of Aguacate
