We were very fortunate to become friends with the Madre over the years. She was a fountain of peace and wisdom. Just being in her presence lowered your blood pressure and stress.
Madre Veronica now leads the convent.
One of our most fun and funny experiences was watching the Sounds of Music with Madre and the Carmelite sisters.
When we visit the Escuela San Bartolome we stay with our friends, the Carmelite hermanas at their convent. They also perform work in the community, visiting sick and elderly who are home bound, and supporting other vulnerable groups.
