Guatemala is one of the financially poorest countries in Latin America. Approximately half of Guatemalan infants are born at home and with limited access to hospitals and clinics. Mayan midwives have provided care for these infants for centuries and we partner with the Mayan non-profit ASECSA to provide additional training in resuscitating newborns for these passionate and knowledgeable women.
